Bollywood Box Office Report : 12 July 2011

Murder 2 has  surprised every traders in the industry with an outstanding opening response, bettering all recent releases since Ready. The film has collected Rs 22cr over its opening weekend. And the film is going strong in the weekday also, Monday was very good collecting around 4.25 cr and today most of the single screen have registered good collections. The movie only dipped the Multiplexes of Mumbai and East Punjab territories.

Chillar Party has been slow to start up, but picked up in the weekends, collecting around Rs 3.15cr over the weekend. The film has sustained very well in the week days also.

Delhi Belly, after registering excellent first week, has gone on to do well in the 2nd weekend collecting around Rs 10.21cr. The movie also has a very good 2nd Monday collecting 1.7 cr nett. The weekdays should add another  Rs.6cr nett giving it a Rs.16cr nett in week two and a two week total will be around 52cr nett. By this trend the movie will end its run around 60 cr mark. Delhi Belly emerge a Super Hit.

In overseas the movie holding up very well and specially in USA the film is phenomenal, the total up to now is $1,232,610(around 5.54 cr). The Movie is the biggest hit in USA in 2011. The movie will collect around 1.65 million in USA market itself and overall $3.5 million in all market.

Breakdown OF Second Week (up to Monday) Friday:2.5cr, Saturday: 3.75 cr, Sunday: 4.6cr, Monday : 1.7cr, Total: 11.45cr nett

Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap remains below average with first week collections of Rs 107 million. Second weekend the movie was able to add only 2cr nett and will finish its run with in 16cr. Due to controlled budget and heavy income from satellite rights, it will recover its cost very easily.

Double Dhamaal has done reasonably well in its second week to collect Rs 7.2 cr, taking its two-week total to Rs 44 cr nett. The movie will be verdict as Above average affair because the Buget of the movie is around 37cr.

Ready has made its clean sweep, now running out of steam, as it adds Rs 92 lakhs in its fifth week to take its five-week total to Rs 120 cr nett. It is the Mega blockbuster of the year 2011 and now everybody’s attention is transferred towards the fate of Bodyguard.
