Rakhta charitra 1 is the most violent film i have seen as far as indian cinema is concerned. This by far is the best film from RGV after company, it has all the RGV elements in it, the weird camera angles, high octane background score and unknown, ugly faces staring strangely in front of the camera.. What Rakta Charitra 1 does is what every gangster movie has done so far but it moved a step forward with excellent performance. Characters are intensely built, and emotions are painstakingly captured, and there is the trademark edginess of an RGV flick.

When Ramu was in top notch form not everybody knows that, at his peak he was ably supported by a certain writer friend called anurag kashyap, they did films such as satya shool and kaun . When Anurag left Ramu to direct his own films Ramu turned to copy writer Jaideep Sahni who wrote jungle and company for him after that jaideep was signed on by Yashraj films. This was the period when Ramu was left with bad writers .it is in this period in which Rgv delivered films like james, agyaat, shiva, d, phoonk 1 and 2 darna mana hai and its sequel, go, nishabd, darwaza band rakho, mr. Ya miss, naach, vaastu shastra and greatest of them all "ram gopal varma ki aag".
In the mean time he gave sarkar and bhoot too and produced films like Ek Hasina Thi, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna..., and Ab Tak Chappan.
Now he has mr. Prashant pandey the writer who is compliments his style, whose works are sarkar, sarkar raaj and now raktha charitra-1 and 2. At the end of the day the fact remains that if Ramu doesn’t have a good writer then he is an ordinary director.
Coming back to Raktha charitra , this film is an small answer to his critics, Raktha charitra starts off brilliantly, every scene was well etched out, the backdrop, the characters, dialogues, i was engrossed and engaged special mention Vivek oberai , what a performance, restrained and effortless abhimanyu singh(bukka reddy) he was menacing, one of the greatest villainous act of our times, shatrughan sinha first time without his mustache was a class act .Sushant singh(vivek's elder) brief but good, radhika apte vivek's wife .In my opinion she was the find of the movie her eyes spoke. Abhimanyu Singh as Bukka Reddy stole the show. This is one of the truly wicked and villainous characters on Indian screen and Abhimanyu lived up to all the superlatives of the role. He did a terrific job that audiences even crave for his villainous instincts and enjoy his cruelness.
I loved the first half second half was racy but good, overall the story is just a simple revenge drama but the treatment was unusual and dark not filmy voice over was irritating after a while too much of violence which was justified, Rakhta charita-1 was the story of Paritala ravi's rise part 2 will be the story of his fall, how he was killed by suri, a roll essayed by Surya, basically a cat and mouse screenplay.
In Short:- Ram Gopal Varma is at his best in bringing this intense violence story on to the screen. The film is technically brilliant and the last half hour is the best part. However, dividing the film into two parts may not go down well with the audiences. Despite the second part’s impressive first look it is quite a challenge to sell off this ‘half film’ and expect audience to buy another ticket to watch the rest of the film. To sum it up Rakta Charitra 1 is for RGV fans.
