It is Illogical, full of loops and over the top, yet enjoyed thoroughly with a smiling face and also laughs at certain sequences. Iss Mein action hai, comedy hai, drama hai, melodrama bhi hai, aur emotions and confusion bhi hai.Total Paisa Vasool movie for me.

Story
Rolling the Review, yamala Pagala Deewana is a complete blend of comedy, Action, drama and emotion. The Deol family back on big screen after the hard hitting performance in “Apne” and this time the Punjab Warriors decided to bring the house with laugh rots.
The film starts in Canada, travels to Banaras and ends at Punjab. Dharam Singh(Dharmendra gi) who plays a role of a lovable, flirtatious and a dunked man and his son Gajodhar Singh(Bobby Doel) who is carring a role of prankster lover boy image,are the biggest Ruf-Tof man and biggest thus in Banaras. Now come A gentle giant machismo role Paramveer sging Dhilon(Sunny Deol), who is a NRI living in Canada with his Mother, firangi wife and two kids. He backs to India for searching this father who abandoned him & his mother years ago and run way with his yonger brother Gajodhar Singh. Three macho Punjabi make a team, but Dharam and gojadhar maun motive to utilize the muscular power of Paramveer fro their unscrupulous work. In the mean time Gajodhar falls in love with Sardarni( Debutante Kulraj randhawa ). What follows a rollercoaster ride showcasing the grateIndian Sardar, Comedy, Drama, marriage theme and classic case of mistaken indentities.
Direction
I guess Samir Kartik(director of Kyun Ho Gaya Na and Heroes) was overconfident after getting the Doel family and a well experienced producer, that’s why he forgot that filmmaking is more then getting the right star cast. At the end he left alone- A haywire script, loosely clubbed story and a spoofy tale of every thing that the doel clan made a living out of until the present time. Had the written been crisper and the direction been more perfect, YDP had all the ingredients to become a Blockbuster. He should worked hard on the editing part specially the dunked scene , some of the songs and some of the romantic scene between Bobby and Kulraj in the first and should have squeeze the length of the movie which is all most 3 hour. . Cinematography is eye-caching capturing the outdoor of both Banaras and Punjab but the action and the dialogs are the real jack here which fit perfectly matching all the pujabi characters interesting on the screen. The writer jaswinder singh is highly inspired by the film like DDLG and Jab we Met which clearly show in the 2nd part.
Performance
Starting with legendry Dharam gii, still has his effervescent charm and totally amazing at the age of 75years . But the real scene-stealer is Sunny deol, he plays his part with absolute elan and is the sole of the film. The fighting scene are very enjoyable, specially the fight scene in the beginning for closinga bar and the climax fight, he did his part very well but the same thing can’t be said about Bobby, who though had a large screen theme and lost the plot totally. He ends up with a so-so performance.
And among the other actors Fresh face Kulraj Randawa makes a dream debut, she is hot and beautiful and her performances are noteworthy. Anupam Kher is outstanding and lovable; Johny Lever is funny in a short role. The other stars like Mukul Dev and Nafisa ali add some light moments to this Crazy tales. . Emma Brown Garrett , as Sunny,s foreign wife is surprisingly did well with her two kids. Most of the time audience really laughed out loud whenever one of kids used to say “Ditto”. But Amit Misty and Puneet Issar get wasted.
Music
It was a okkish affair. From the look of the trailer its was excepted that the album to be loaded with Desi Pujabi mix. Thank fully, they didn’t mesh and add vulgar bit to the title track. A rearranged of the Laxmikanta-pyarelal ‘s Smash hit chartbuster ‘Yamala Pagala dewana’ remains its original quality and the voice of Sonu Nigam makes this best song of the album. Other then the title song ‘Tinku Jiya’ and ‘Charha De Ranga’ can be given a few listening but rest song are not impressive.

Negatives
- The first half is sluggish and lackluster. There is nothing new to show by the director. There are lots of things should have been edited in the first half.
- The movie totally falls to create a romantic feeling. The stretched romantic track between Gajodhar and Sahena lacks spunk.
- The music is not carry forwarding the story line rather only increasing the length of the movie.
Positives
- Hilarious performance form Dharam gi and Sunny Deol. And after a long time return of Deol’s family.
- Sunnypagi fighting scenes are quite similar to DABANGGIRI style, with Dhae Kilo Ka Hatha wala punches and with some funny dialog ,its totally enjoyable.
- Post Interval part, when story moves from Banaras to Punjab. It’s a mad ride from there, replete with funny gags, crazy situation and very funny dialogues.
- The climax scene is laugh riots (Bit like priyadarshan good movies climax style)
Verdicts
It provides what it promised, Drama, laugh, Emotion, fight every thing a bit, As a whole a completely masala movie. If you like Dabangg’s hummer and Golmaal 3’s comedy and Priyadasan style ending ,then it is a must watch movie. The film is mad-stuff and Deols ensure a few laughs are guaranteed. A perfect film to watch with Family. The movie surely do goods in BO. The Single Screen audience will love more then Multiplex.
