His journey in bollywood, his movies and Awards
Khamoshi (1996) Bhansali wrote and directed Khamoshi: The Musical about a young girl born to deaf mute parents. The critics loved the movie while it was a moderate success at the box office. The movie had Manisha Koirala and Salman Khan together in the lead while Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas played the deaf mute parents. It won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie.
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam(1999 ) was a love story that takes unexpected turns and the main characters were played by Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai. This movie is one of the overall best movies I've ever seen .Sanjay Leela Bhansali's direction is nothing less then inspiring along with some of the most wonderful music ever heard, wonderful spirited acting, and the most beautiful sets ever seen, The sets were lavish and passions running high. It won the Filmfare Best Movie Award and the Filmfare Best Director Award.
Devdas (2002 ) Bhansali reworked Devdas with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Aishwarya Rai as Paro and brought in Madhuri Dixit as Chandramukhi. It was another extravagant and breath taking project. He won yet another Filmfare Best Movie Award and the Filmfare Best Director Award along with the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. It was India’s official entry to the Oscar Awards.
Black (2005) The riotous colour of his previous movies made way to Black which was based on Helen Keller’s life. It showed the life of a deaf mute girl who makes it despite all odds with the help of a man who later succumbs to Alzheimer’s disease. Rani Mukherji and Amitabh Bacchan both won accolades for their performance. The movie won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi as well as the Filmfare Best Movie Award and Filmfare Best Director Award. The movie, Black, which Time Magazine (Europe) selected as fifth of the 10 Best Movies of the Year 2005 from across the globe. Black broke a record at the 2006 Filmfare Awards, winning eleven awards.
Saawariya (2007) which was the debut for star kids Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor failed. It received the thumbs down from critics and the movie-goers. But no one can forget the work he had done to create the lavish set and heart pumping music.
Guzarish(2010) Bhansali is working on Guzarish with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Guzaarish tells a dark tale of Ethan (Hrithik Roshan), a radio show host, who is a paraplegic. Aishwarya Rai is a married woman who is his nurse. The movie also brings up the conflict ridden issue of euthanasia.
Other movie in progress, Chenab Gandhi, on the other hand, will be directed by Vibhu Puri and stars Amitabh Bacchan, Harman Baweja and Vidya Balan. It is inspired by the life of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, a freedom fighter. And a film with Akki director by Wanted fame Prabhu Deva .
In Short:- With his magnificent career people still have a doubt about his creativity and credibility of his work. As per I know the synopsis of Guzarish , Hrithik ( Ethan), a magician, suffers an accident that renders him paralyzed. As he struggles to live with his condition, he falls in love with his nurse Ash(Sofie). Yes Guzarish does not seem to be an commercial or entertainment movie but I am sure it is a movie that packed with mind-blowing performances both from Hrithik and Aish. Music of this movie is very smooth and it hits eare with pleasent. Those who are bollywood movie lover they are eagerly waiting for this movie.

THOUGH I ADMIRE HIS WORK,
ReplyDeleteBUT WHAT PUTS ME OFF WITH ALL HIS FILMS EXCEPT "KHAMOSHI" (WHICH WAS AN ORGINAL TO THE CORE)
IS THAT HE DOESN'T ACCEPT THE FACT THAT HE TOO COPIES/BORROWS/GET INSPIRED BY OTHER CREATIONS..
FOR INSTANCE HIS "HDDCS" STORYLINE WAS BORROWED FROM A MARATHI NOVEL "NA HANYATE" WHICH HE NEVER ADMITTED,
DEVDAS WAS BADLY ADAPTED IN TRUE SENSE OF THE TERM, ,
OVER THE TOP SEQUENCES, LOUD DIALOGUE DELIVERIES,
IT WAS MORE OF A COSTUME DRAMA THAN A TRAGIC STORY
BLACK SO CALLED 11 FILMFARE AWARDS WINNER
SUPPOSEDLY ON HELLEN KELLER, WAS A FRAME TO FRAME COPY OF THE 1962 FILM "MIRACLE WORKER"..
SAAWARIYAA HIS ACT OF SELF INDULGENCE, WAS ALSO LIFTED FROM A FILM CALLED "WHITE NIGHTS"(1957)..
AND THE UPCOMING ONE "GUZAARISH" WHICH AS U SAY PROMISES SO MUCH IS AGAIN A LIFT TOO,
2005 BEST FOREIGN FILM(SPANISH) OSCAR WINNER "THE SEA INSIDE" IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF "INSPIRATION" FOR OUR "GUZAARISH"..
ONE DON'T EXPECT COPING/GET INSPIRED KIND OF THING FROM THIS GENIUS OF A FILM MAKER ..
I ADMIRE HIS WORK AND I BELIEVE ONE DAY HE WILL MAKE A FILM WHICH THE WORLD WILL NOTICE..
