Box Office Report 21 Feb 2011
7 Khon Maaf had a average weekends grossing around Rs.11.53 cr nett in its opening weekend. The occupancy level was around 30-35% level all over India. It was fared best in Mumbai with around 40-50% in multiplexes and 20-30% in single screens. The business was below the expectation level looking at the buzz and no of print release. The film has released around 700-800 cinema and the film has a budget of around Rs.30cr( 24 production costs and 6 cr p&a costs). It has been sold in Mumbai circuit and a couple other circuits fetching 9 crore in total wherever sold. The satellite and music rights has given good returns so recovery is possible for makers but theatrical business is unlikely to be strong due to dark theme and not encouraging reports. Daily Breakdown: Friday 3.30cr, Saturday 3.51cr, Sunday 4.72cr.
The other movies like Kaccha Lembo & Masti Express, released this week were non starter. Disaster
Patiala House had a poor 2nd weekend collection around Rs.3.7cr nett approx. The first week collections were around Rs.24.5cr nett with a distributor share Rs.12.75cr approx. Total business grossed around Rs.27cr nett. The film has been sold to distributor with a reasonable price but due disappointed theatrical run the distributors will sure to lose some amount of their investment. Flop
Yeh Saali Zindagi had a decent second week of around 3.25crore nett form 340 prints, taking its two week total to Rs.10.75cr nett. Above Average
Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji add another 1.50cr nett to its total in its 3rd week from 45o prints. Its total movies to 27cr nett as its distributor share move close to Rs. 15cr. The distributor will lose little amount. Average.
