Tanu Weds Manu: The Big Hope For Bollywood : Komal Nahta
The year 2011 started with a good note with four hits in the first month. No One Killed Jessica proved that there was an exception to the role that woman oriented films don’t work in Bollywood. Yamla Pagla Deewana was a roaring hit in North India, Dhobi Ghat would have been a flop if Aamir Khan had charged a fee. Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya’s comic flick Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji did well at the box-office too.
But this good luck spree at the box-office was short-lived with the big budget, Akshay Kumar starrer Patiala House. The film was a flop as was the next film, Priyanka Chopra’s 7 Khoon Maaf. Next in the pipeline is Tanu Weds Manu whose songs and promos have already been liked by audiences. Koimoi.com Editor Komal Nahta explains why the cute comedy, starring Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan, will be value for money.
