'Dabangg' wins National Award for wholesome entertainment
Arabaaz Khan's debut production venture "Dabangg" starring Salman Khan got the National Award for wholesome entertainment, which was announced on Thursday.
The National Award for best feature film went to the Malayalam movie "Adaminte Makan Abu". Tamil moviemaker Veerimaran was named best director at the 58th National Film Awards.
The National Award for best actor will be shared by Tamil cinema's Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar for their work in "Aadukalam" and "Adaminde Makan Abu", respectively.
Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar and Tamil cinema's Saranya won the National Award for best actress for their performances in the movies "Baboo Band Baaja" and "Thenmerku Paruvakkaatru" respectively. Best cinematographer award has been awarded to Madhu Ambat, while best audiography went to Ishqiya.
Best music direction: Vishal Bharadwaj (Ishqiya)
Best hindi film : Do Dooni Chaar
Best production design: Robot
Best English Film: Memories in MarchBest singer male: Suresh Wadekar Best singer female: Rekha Bharadwaj
Best children's film: Hejjegalu (Kannada)
