Bodyguard has grossed around 16 crore nett as per early estimates on Thursday. This takes its two day business to 37 crore nett plus in two days.
It is an a huge number and the film was rock steady at places but on the other hand there were places which showed a more than normal drop coming off a holiday. Cities like Bangalore, Gurgaon and Chandigarh had a 30% plus drop at many multiplexes. On the other sides single screens in places like Kanpur, Lucknow and Jodhpur hardly dropped.
A normal drop after such a big holiday would have been 15-20% but this is a little bit more but collections are also at very high levels.
Bodyguard is a huge winner but will need to sustain well from here on to become the biggest hit of the year which looked a certainty after the first day of 21 crore nett.
