Review of No One Killed Jessica

Tied with outstanding performances, effectual background music and realistic character, ‘NOKJ’ is a fantastic movie ,heart-pumping Drama. With out doubt I had experienced a very good movie.
Ratings****

Story :
No One Killed Jessica is a fast paced thriller set in the hub of political power, New Delhi. It is the story of two women and their relentless pursuit of justice that mobilizes an entire nation to prove that in democracy there is no greater power than the power of the people. Going little dip in to the story.
The commendable work is that a film about such a serious issue leaves you in good humor, without taking away anything from the message. And the first half of NOKJ plays the more important role since it has more paces, punch and happenings as compared to the second.
Direction :
NOKJ comes from the director  who made a strong statement with his debut, Aamir; and aspires to be a commercial success - is delivered. It's entertaining, it makes its point and it reaches out to us. Raj Kumar Gupta very cleverly divides the movie into two parts giving one entirely to Vidya Balan and the second to the veteran Rani Mukherjee. The first half has Vidya Balan fighting for the justice with her helpless family and friends, coming up with a remarkable performance. And the second has Rani Mukherjee taking on the task of getting the case re-opened and then putting it to justice with the help of her media profile and channel.

Music:
Amit Trivedi, his music in combination with Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics tells you a lot more than the essential story itself.T he “Delhi Delhi” song is fabulous. In fact Amit Trivedi seems to have excelled himself in giving music to such thought provoking and off beat films.
Performances:

I loved the bitch in Mira (Rani Mukherjee) and the cow in Sabrina (Vidya Balan) in the Movie. Jocks apart Vidya Balan gave another flawless performance. she comes up with another splendid performance after PAA and ISHQIYA which is undoubtedly capable of getting her more awards in the future. She was brilliant and natural with out putting so much efforts. Well Rani mukerji back with a bang. she was a brave ,fearless and abusive news reporter. she proves that she is not outdated, she still have the potential to stolen any awards and kick the toppers to fetch no one post.
In the supporting cast a small gem of a performance coming from Rajesh Sharma as the investigating officer, especially in the first half. Neil as the key witness and Zeeshan as the main accused are fine too along with Myra as Jessica playing it quite effortlessly.

In short: some good and loop holes

Good:
  • The performances of all the actors are brilliants and impressive.
  • Though we already knows the whole story unfolding on the screen, the film still successfully manages to impress and keeps you glued to your seats till the end.
  • The authentic use of the famous Delhi lingo spoken by the people and the police incorporated in a blunt way.
  • The exceptional choice of the supporting cast by the director and his associates which works instantly
  • The spellbinding first court room scene which makes you feel like hitting all the hostile witnesses denying justice
  • The portrayed scene where the murderer’s mother speaking from behind the door, “Mere Monu Ko Kuchh Nahin Hona Chahiye” indeed deserves praises for its writer.
Flip side:
There is nothing big to be pointed out in this movie but there are some part could have been done in a better way.
  •  I real feel Rani, a little over energetic than required. I marked a complete change of attitude in per and post interval. Where in the 1st half hard hitting, in the 2nd half pretty cool. With no reason feels little awkward.
  • I really feel that the emotional part in the music was missing and it was more designed with the aim of creating an artificial sensation on the screen. The background score could’ve been better
  • The pace could have been a little better in the first half, which might have made the second half look better.
Verdicts:
With out second though it is a must watch movie. Highly suggested, go and experience a real script (which is rare in bollywood) and motivates the director/writers to make movie like this more often. This may not proved to be a walk way BO hit but it is sure it will return back your value for money. No One Killed Jessica is several notches ahead of the rubbish we’ve been subjected to in theaters lately.Weekend collection may cross 12cr because of extremely positive review and Positive WOM. This movie will appeal more to multiplex audience rather then masses in single-screen cinemas.
